Joni Johnson, Administrator

Joni has always held positions of trust in providing services for her vulnerable students, residents and persons affected by disease.  Joni owned her own business, Eldridge Preschool, from 1991 to 2007.  In May of 2007, she sold the business to become opening manager of Grand Haven Retirement Community in Eldridge, Iowa.  From pre-open to the addition of more apartments and creation of a dedicated memory care unit, Grand Haven blossomed as did her love of seniors and those with Alzheimer’s.  Joni left Grand Haven in February 2011 to join her fiancée in Fort Dodge.  Due to opportunities for both her and her husband in Davenport, they made their move back to the QCA in August of that year.   That opportunity for Joni was work as Community Relations Coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association in the Quad-Cities.  She was co-chairs with Kirsten Adams, Lighthouse owner, on the “Memories in the Making” Alzheimer’s art fundraiser held in April 2012 at the Figge Museum, which raised more than $25,000.  Joni also worked with businesses, committees and teams to help raise over $85,000 for the 2012 Quad-Cities Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  Awareness and education were important parts of the job.  The work with the association was very rewarding but she missed working with clients and families coordinating care solutions for loved ones.  In October of 2012, the position of Administrator at Lighthouse Homecare came up and she followed the calling to continue her passion and work in this field.
